Horses
I am an experienced BHSAI riding instructor who teaches many clients around the North West from novice to competitive level, including being the main instructor at two riding schools. I am also Pony Club Accredited.
I own 3 horses. A 20 year old Thoroughbred called Murphy, a 14 year old Highland Cross called Casper, and a 6 year old Piebald Cob called Toby. I regularly take them competing to Show Jumping, Side Saddle Demonstrations (with Murphy), and Unaffilliated Dressage if I have time!
We have accumulated BE points, won BSJA prize money, competed in 2 and 3 Day Events, won Side Saddle and Cob Classes at County level, and won at Local Show Level. We have qualified for The Scope Festival, and been placed at the Oliver Townend Eventers Challenge Final at Aintree this year, in the largest class!
I am also a BHS Riding and Road Safety trainer, first aider, and I am fully insured. I have successfully trained pupils for their BHS exams, and I can teach side saddle. I especially enjoy bringing on young horses and ambitious young riders.
On a more unusual note, I have also helped to prepare two people to ride side saddle to their weddings, and trained their horses for the big event!
One year I arranged a ride around the Mary Townley Loop on the Burnley Moors over some fairly harsh terrain, and completed the ride successfully.
Please see the Gallery for some pictures of me out competing!
Painting
I learnt to paint over 15 years ago at art classes run by a local artist, and my hobby has since turned into a business.
My paintings have travelled as far afield as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I can paint any subjects including horses and other animals or scenes. If you would like me to paint something unusual, just ask!
Please see the Gallery for some examples of my work.
